On Aug 12th, 2022 National Librarian’s Day is celebrated in the Library of Mangalmay Institute of Management & Technology in the remembrance of Father of Library Science Prof Dr. S. R. Ranganathan. Prof Ranganathan was born on Aug 1892 in a small village of Tamilnadu he began his professional life as a mathematician then he switched to the library and information science field.
He was a university librarian and professor of library science at BHU and the university of Delhi. He has written too many books and articles in the field of library and information science “Five Laws of Library Science” and “Colon Classification Scheme” is one of the most famous work. Dr. Ranganathan is remembered for his huge contribution to the field of library science. Today on the basis of his basic rules for library science the library is growing day by day.
On this occasion Chairman Sri Atul Mangal, Vice Charman Sri Ayush Mangal, Executive Director Ms. Prerna Mangal, Director Dr. Geeti Sharma, Chairperson LDC Prof. Dr. Anshu Goel, Librarian Mr . Sandeep Shrivastava, and all faculties, staff, and students have given tribute to Dr. Ranganathan.
A quiz completion related to library activities has been organized by the library and 40 students from different disciplines have participated in this quiz.
